Organized in collaboration with the Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey University (KMÜ) Department of Data Science and Analytics and the VBT Data Science Community student society, the "TÜBİTAK 2209-A Information Conference" was successfully held on May 14, 2026, at the Kamil Özdağ Faculty of Science. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Yıldırım, one of our faculty members, participated as a speaker at the event, which was organized to foster the research and project culture among our department's students.

During the conference, the TÜBİTAK 2209-A University Students Research Projects Support Program, which encourages undergraduate and associate degree students to conduct scientific research projects, was discussed in full detail. In his comprehensive presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Yıldırım conveyed essential information to the participants regarding the program's objectives, application requirements, crucial points to consider while preparing the project proposal form, and the evaluation criteria. Furthermore, Yıldırım enlightened the students on technical aspects such as the execution processes of accepted projects and budget management.

In the later stages of the event, Assist. Prof. Dr. Büşra Pınar Atabilen also made valuable contributions to the conference. The event, which drew intense interest from VBT Data Science Community (@dsc.kmu) members and our department students, took place in a highly interactive atmosphere. During the Q&A session following the presentations, students had the opportunity to share their project ideas with our professors and find direct answers to all their questions regarding the application process.

This highly productive, research-and-development-focused event concluded with encouraging messages inspiring students to bring their projects to life. As a department, we would like to express our gratitude to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Yıldırım and Assist. Prof. Dr. Büşra Pınar Atabilen for their valuable contributions to academic development, as well as the community members who helped organize the event and all the participating students. We wish them great success in their project application processes.
